Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about generating invoices.
Is the invoice generator really free?
Yes — 100% free with no account required. There are no watermarks on your downloaded invoices, no usage limits, and no hidden fees. We make money through display advertising, not by charging users.
Where is my data stored?
Nowhere. The entire generator runs in your browser. Your business details, client information, and invoice data are never sent to our servers — and they're cleared the moment you close or refresh the page.
How does the PDF download work?
We use your browser's built-in print-to-PDF feature. When you click 'Download PDF', a print dialog opens. Choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination, and your professional invoice saves directly to your device.
Can I add my own logo or change the colors?
The current free version uses a clean, professional template. We're working on customization features (logo upload, color themes, custom templates) — they'll be added soon as part of the free tool.
What invoice numbering should I use?
Use any system you like, but be consistent. Common formats include sequential numbering (INV-0001, INV-0002), date-based (2026-001, 2026-002), or client-prefixed (ACME-001). The IRS requires unique, sequential invoice numbers for tax records.
